Royal Melbourne Show is a good event to either compete with your rare breed sheep, fleece or wool craft.
The Sheep portion of the 2015 Royal Melbourne Show will be held from Saturday 19 September to Monday 21 September at Melbourne Showgrounds. Entries for competitions open in May so check the information on the website below. Otherwise just go to see the sheep and displays. There are also special wool shows.
Sheep - The event distributes a number of blue ribbon awards to breeders, allowing for credible benchmarking and celebrating excellence in stud sheep breeds, in a long standing tradition of the Royal Melbourne Show.
Fleece - The event showcases fleeces from across south-east Australia, and incorporates the District Fleece Competition, which celebrates champion fleeces from across Victorian agricultural shows.
Thank you to the The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) who organise this event to promote and celebrate Victorian agriculture, the Royal Melbourne Show is the state’s largest and most iconic annual community event. More information can be found on the RASV Royal Melbourne Show website.
